April 20th 2017 was an exciting evening for the Westchester community as the Dynamic Kids staff and children presented 100 Heart Pillows to United For The Troops in commemoration of 100 years of Occupational Therapy. The children have been diligently using their fine and sensory motor skills to sew and stuff hearts for those serving in the military. Along with cards, thank you notes and flags, 4 boxes filled with pillows were presented to Jim Rathschmidt of United for the Troops, a volunteer organization that sends care packages and supplies to the troops. It was a heartwarming evening for all as he accepted these boxes with a tear in his eye as he thanked Dynamic Kids not only for the hearts but for the work they do with children, families and the community. This presentation was followed by a free lecture given by Robbie Levy, owner and director of Dynamic Kids. As per Ms. Levy, “It was an honor to celebrate our past and look forward to leading a path to the future.” Celebrating Occupational Therapy Month and its’ 100th anniversary was especially meaningful for everyone this year.
