All Fact Up

In honor of Autism Awareness I am having a very special show on ALL FACT UP on April 7th with some very special parents of some very special kids. Please listen in as we discuss the triumphs and the battles of being a parent of a special needs child or two. Dana DeRuvo Hanner, been a Registered Nurse for over thirty years. For the past sixteen years she has been a maternal/child home healthcare nurse for Montefiore Home Health Care in The Bronx.
She is the mother to three children, Rachel,26, is a special education teacher, in Tampa, Fl. Nicholas, who had multiple disabilities, passed away last Sept., at 22 years old, peacefully. Jackson, 20, is a junior at Emerson College in Boston, Ma. He is a film major. He is doing an internship this semester in Washington, DC, working for the Bernie Sanders campaign.
Dana is the author of the book, The Ties That Bind, One Family’s Journey of Compassion with a Special Needs Child.
Together, with Susan Kleiman, they started the Special Moms Network, four years ago.

Theresa Beningo who has a 9 yr old son who was diagnosed at the age of 18 months with PDD and put on autistic spectrum. He has gone thru home ABA and special education, of ot, PT, speech since kindergarten.
Francine Sica-Mcintosh and Frank Mcintosh, parents of two special needs sons ages 15 and 19 , on the Autism Spectrum..they will share their wealth of knowledge with getting the proper services for success and the daily struggles and triumphs of raising these beautiful boys..

AnnMarie Flaim Nash my sister in law…Mother of my gorgeous 5 year old nephew Oliver Nash on the Autism spectrum.Annmarie is juggling working full time and learning how to best help Oliver succeed and, she is an inspiration to me, her love and devotion to Oliver are amazing.

Rosemary Garofolo a parent of triplets, one son having learning disabilities and struggling with the NYS Regents Requirement of passing five Regents. Rosemary is fighting to have the Regents Requirement eliminated for ALL children Special ed and gen ed.

Danielle Brooks mom of a son on the spectrum and Special education advocate who fights tooth and nail for services for special education students not being properly serviced in their local school district. Danielle knows the law and helps you fight for your children’s rights.
