Transitioning from H.S. to College: Making a Successful Adjustment

Hi Families & Friends,

While shifting from high school to college can be exciting, it can also be an overwhelming process for students and their families. It is important for everyone to be informed about this process in order to start preparing for the transition as early as possible.

Sheptin Tutoring Group has partnered with New Frontiers in Learning’s Director, Samantha Feinman, as she presents:

Making a Successful Adjustment from High School to College
Monday, July 31st
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. @ The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection
$40 Admission
(Admission includes 2 tickets for one parent & one student)

This presentation will focus on:

The differences between the worlds of high school and college, with a focus on the transfer of ownership of responsibilities from the parent to the student.

The skillsets needed to become a successful college student, including a high level of academic commitment, self-advocacy, and overall executive functions (time management, organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, etc.).

Understanding and being able to access the resources available on the college campus.

Register here for your ticket or reach out to alan@sheptin.com for more information!

Best Regards,

The New Frontiers in Learning Team

& Alan Sheptin
